CAMPBELL, CARSON, HEAVILIN, MCCAIN posted by Todd W. Zimmerman on Sunday, June 1, 1997: I am looking for information on the families of Hugh (1820-1907) and Sarah (HEAVILIN) (1822-1908) CAMPBELL of Harrison County, OH. Sarah's parents were Adam (b.1795) & Lucinda (MCCAIN) (1800-1876) HEAVILIN. I do not have Hugh's parents, though. Their children were Mary Margaret CARSON (1844-1927), Adam (b. 1847), James (1850-fl. 1927), Lydia (1853- fl. 1927), and Hugh (b. 1855). I need more info on these children; I have info on CARSON branch if needed.

FIFE, HUESTON, LYONS, ORR posted by Melanie Fife-Ryder on Sunday, June 1, 1997: According to the family bible, John FIFE Sr, traveled to America with John HUESTON, his two sisters Esther and Ann, and four ORR brothers, Robert, John, Hugh, & William from the shores of Tyrone County Ireland. John FIFE married Ester HUESTON and Robert ORR married Ann HUESTON. Robert and Ann had 9 daughters. John and Ester had 1 son, John FIFE Jr. For a few years they resided in Westmoreland County, PA, then traveled to Ohio. The Harrison County deed records showed that Robert and Ann ORR transferred land to John FIFE Sr on 3/3/1815. John FIFE Jr (b. 1806)later married Cassander (Cassandra) LYONS (b. 1813) on 12/23/1828. They had twelve children Rachel, James A., Easter (Esther), Sarah, Robert Orr, Martha, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Cassy Jane, Samuel Grove, and John Wesley. Any help in finding info on these folks would be greatly appreciated. There is a FIFE family reunion held in Harrison County at Scio each year on the 4th Sunday.

BOATMAN, GOODMAN posted by Jim Stout on Sunday, June 1, 1997: I'm researching Peter GOODMAN, born c1790 Pennsylvania, and his wife Elizabeth BOATMAN born c1792 Virginia. This couple settled in Harrison Co., Ohio, about 1820. Children included Sarah, Jonas, Elizabeth, Jane, Martha and Andrew Jackson. The family moved about 1840 to Livingston County, Missouri. They moved from Pennsylvania to Harrison Co. and later to Belmont Co. BIRCHFIELD, BLAKE, CARNAHAN, CLARKSON, HYATT, LLOYD, MCBETH, ROCK posted by Donna Rock on Sunday, June 1, 1997: My 2nd great grandmother was Mary Jane LLOYD. She was born in 1822,12/1 in a part of Virginia (Frederick Co) which is today West Virginia. Mary Jane resided in Scio (possibly under the name Mary Jane ROCK or McBETH) in the late 1800's or early 1900's. Her parents were William LLOYD, born ca 1769 in Frederick Co, Va. and Elizabeth BIRCHFIELD BLAKE, born in Va. ca 1788. In 1848/27/8, she married Henry ROCK. Mary Jane and Henry were the parents of two sons: Alonzo CLARKSON ROCK, b 1850/29/5 who married Luella HYATT of Knox Co, Ohio and Henry Lee ROCK, b. 1850/29,5 who married Martha CARNAHAN. Henry was the Clerk of Courts when he died in 1919. Henry ROCK died at the age of 25 in 1853 and Mary Jane LLOYD ROCK married James McBETH who had 8 children of his own. Mary Jane LLOYD ROCK died in Canton, Ohio in 1909. Anyone who interested in any of the families or individuals mentioned above, I would be glad to correspond with you. I have more information on the LLOYD and ROCK families. I have nothing more on the BIRCHFIELD and BLAKE families and would like to correspond with anyone who is acquainted with those surnames.

SHICK posted by Patricia Shick Armstrong on Sunday, June 1, 1997: Looking for ancestors, descendants and information on John SHICK. He was born in 1775 in Pennsylvania. Sometime later he moved to Virginia on the Potomac river and near Harpers Ferry. Moved to Harrison county, OH (now Loudon township, Carroll county, OH) abt 1820 and to Logan county, OH abt 1832. He died in 1841. John's Father was probably born in Germany and came to USA in the mid 1700s.
