I would like to find the parents of Mary Christina Shook.

Robert Martin SCOTT was born 1840 in New Rumley, Harrison County, Ohio, and died in Athens County, Ohio. He married Lucinda PARKER-KING September 06, 1861 in Athens County, Ohio, Volume 4, Page 214. Robert's parents came from Pennsylvania to Ohio in covered wagons pulled by oxen teams. He lived with his family in New Rumley, Harrison County, Ohio, but at the age of fourteen years, came to Athens County to work for a family named Warren. Canaanville was known at that time as Warrens Station. He worked in the mines and in timber in Athens County. His parents and siblings remained in New Rumley, Harrison County, Ohio. Robert served in the Civil War, serving some time in Missouri. He saw three years service in the Army. After marrying Lucinda, he moved his family to Missouri, traveling by wagon train. They stayed in Missouri for several years, but the climate didn't agree with them so they returned to Ohio to what is known as Scott Hollow, Athens County and raised their family there. I would love to explain information with other Scott researchers.

Searching for information on my gt-gt-grandfather Lemuel Wegnor JOHNSON. Lemuel was born in Harrison County Nov. 25, 1826. I believe his mother's name is Rebecca Johnson. He went to live with his grandparents, Joseph J. JOHNSON and Mary DAVIS, also of Harrison Cty, prior to age 10. His father had died and I'm not sure what happened to his mother. Joseph moved the family to Van Wert Cty in 1836 and then Lemuel went on to Iowa after marrying Nancy SCOTT in 1850. I would really like to find out what happened to Lemuel's parents and any info about the JOHNSON family in Harrison county. I believe the JOHNSON family came to Ohio from Brooke Cty, WV. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

I am stuck in Harrison County. I have traced William CHANEY Junior backwards from Coshocton, County. He was born somewhere in Ohio in 1800. He married Sarah STEEL, who was also born in Ohio in 1804. They were married 1824, in Harrison Co, The 1830c shows them in Athens Twp. The 1840c shows them in Coshocton Co. where they remained until the 1860c. I can't find them after that. There was another William Chaney in Harrison Co. 1820c. I thought I had found Junior's father. Research proved otherwise, his son William had been born in Pa. If anyone can help me I"d surely appreciate it.

Still hunting my elusive Mary LEEPER b. 1832 in Harrison County. Mary was in the Harrison County Infirmary in 1860 at age 28 with son John LEEPER age 1, both listed as paupers. John was on the 1870 and 1880 census, living with the William SPIKER family. Infirmary records first indicated Mary was discharged in 1867 but later records show she died there in 1875. Does anyone have a clue about the family of my Mary?

Looking for Zadock DICKERSON, who moved to Van Buren County Iowa in the early 1800s. Would appreciate any knowledge of his family. He is living near a Samuel C. Dickerson (my gr-gr-grandfather) in Iowa and is the right age to be his father. They state that they are from Ohio, and circumstantial evidence made me believe that they were from Harrison County.
