I am looking for death/estate information on Zebediah COX Jr. b.c. 1780 MD and his wife Keturah TIPTON b.c. 1786 MD, m. 9 Sep. 1802 Jefferson Co. OH; living in Harrison Co., Archer Twp. in 1820 & 1830. In 1850 they were in Tuscarawas Co., Rush Twp. with 5 children: Charlotte 26, Jacob 23, Amos 17, Benedict & Benjamin 11 and Phebe 1. I believe this Zebediah is the son named in 1825 Harrison Co. Will of Zebediah COX Sr. who bequeathed 91 acre land to Zebediah Jr. and his children which was sold to Francis GILMORE in 1827 by James and Rachel HAVENER; Rachel being a child and heir of Zebediah Cox. Keturah COX was named in Harrison Co. Will of Aquilla TIPTON as a daughter and already given her dowry. The family tradition is that Rachel's mother was full or half Native American. Will be happy to exchange information.

I am Researching WEST in Coshocton County. The families came originally from Harrison County. There are several families and I do not know how they are connected. Some of those who came to Coshocton are Robert, William, Elias, Chauncy, Jonathan, and probably a couple of other who I have forgotten at this moment. I have read the Harrison County History books and found West names. Is there anyone who has done research on WEST of Harrison County?

Jonathan LAIZURE lived most of his life in Bedford County, PA before moving to Nottingham Township, Harrison County in 1818. He had not been in his new home for a year before he fell ill and died at the age of 44. He left 9 children: William B., Juliann (MCCULLOUGH), Amos, Mariah (TARBERT), Elizabeth "Betsy", Elijah, Reily, Isaac, and Amelia. His wife was Jane LOVE born c. 1780 in PA. Are there any descendents of Jonathan's out there? His grandchildren married into families such as the LEE's, SCOTT's, WILLISON's, and KENNEDY's.

I am trying to find the maiden name of my great-g-g-g grandmother, Eliza LINDSAY. After her husband died, she moved to Germano in Harrison County to live with Dr. George DUFFIELD. In Aug. 1849 her will was probated at Cadiz. Dr. Duffield was appointed guardian to her two daughters, Margaret and Levina Jane. I think Dr. Duffield could be Eliza's brother or Dr. Duffield's wife could be Eliza's sister. Eliza is buried at Germano. Is there any source such as an obituary that would list the brothers and sisters of George Duffield and his wife, Christina? I'm not certain of the spelling of his wife's name. I only know that they died after 1849. Thank you.

John P. LEEPER b1859 m Mary E KENT b1860 on 6-26-1881. Mary was dau of Absolem KENT (4) and Jane A. LEE. I think John P. LEEPER was the son of Mary LEEPER. I show a John LEEPER age 1 and a Mary LEEPER age 28 in the Harrison County Infirmary in the 1860 census. In the 1870 census, Mary had disappeared and I show John living with a family named Spiker in Stock Twp, Harrison County. He was still with this family in the 1880 census. I am trying to find information about Mary LEEPER born approx 1832. Also looking for the family of Jane A.LEE. and wondering what the relationship was with the SPIKER family.

I'm looking for any and all information on Joseph CAPSTACK (b. c.1825 ?England, m. 5 Jul 1849 to Mary Jane COLEMAN in Harrison County, d. 12 Apr 1895 in Quaker City) and his son Thomas C. CAPSTACK (b. c. 1850, m. 5 Jun 1873 to Mary GRAYBILL in Harrison County, d. ?), who are my great-great-great-grandfather and his son, respectively. I believe Joseph immigrated from England with his brother, Jonathan, in the 1840's, but as yet have found nothing to prove this other than vague census records. I am specifically interested in their occupations (Joseph is listed in several places as a blacksmith), when and from where Joseph arrived, and where they lived. Joseph was also a Civil War veteran in the 157th regiment OVI. Census records put Joseph in Jefferson county in 1850 and 1860, and Belmont in 1880. Joseph also had several other children: Mary E., William B., Charles M., Rebecca, John, and Nettie. Thanks for any and all assistance!!!
