I am looking for the descendants of James, Jacob, Daniel, and Joseph NORRICK who settled near Bowerton, Harrison County, Ohio about 1807. We believe that James Norrick, the elder, was born in Germany in the same village as cleric Martin Luther was born. James came to Pennsylvania before 1750 and settled near Indian Head, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the United Bretheren Lutheran Church. In Ohio his son Jacob Norrick had son Joseph Norrick married a Mary CRIPLEVER supposedly a widow of George HOLMES. Joseph had a son Jacob Norrick from whom I descend. Widow Mary then married (2 or 3) a William HORTON and moved to Tipton, Iowa. My Jacob m. Margaret JOHNSTON and moved to near Mound City, Nodaway County, Missouri. Have been told that the Narragon family is also the part of the NARLECH/NORLECK/NORRICK/NORIC/NORRIX family. Would like to correspond with descendants of this James and Jacob and Joseph Norrick.

I have grandparents Samuel Revelle JOHNSTON (1798-1883) who married Rebecca BARNHILL (1806-1873) near Scio, Harrison County, Ohio. Samuel's ancestor Ray Johnston still lives on the original landgrant that Samuel approved by Thomas Jefferson's agent in the early 1820's. Rebecca Barnhill was the daughter of William and Mary (ENSLEY) BARNHILL. The Barnhills were reportedly from Pennsylvania. Know very little about this family. Sameul R. Johnston was the son of ??? and Cecelia (REVELLE) Johnston. Samuel was reportedly born 12/3/1798 on a boat in Baltimore Harbor after coming here from Ireland. Cecelia lost her husband in transit or early after they arrived. Cecelia Johnston then traveled to the Charleston, South Carolina area. She reportedly married a frenchman whose name started with 'La__' either in Maryland or in Charleston and had a large second family. Samuel R. Johnston reportedly served as a young man in the drum and bugle corps with Andy Jackson at the battle of New Orleans and back in Charleston worked in a dry goods store. In the 1820's Samuel said goodbye to his stepbrother ? 'La__' at the South Carolina border and came to Harrison County filed a land grant and remained the rest of his life. Would like to visit with Johnston and Barnhill Cousins.
